J.Bernardt is the alter ego of Belgian musician, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jinte Deprez, best known as one of the frontmen of the acclaimed alt-rock band Balthazar. Since launching J.Bernardt in 2016, Deprez has developed a distinct sound that blends grooving synth-pop, R&B, and cinematic soul. Defined by his signature soulful vocals, rich instrumentation, and infectious grooves, the project balances slick studio craftsmanship with raw emotional depth.

 

J.Bernardt introduced his solo persona with the praised debut album Running Days (2017), a groove-heavy collection shaped by modern electronics and R&B influences. He further expanded his repertoire with the release of Contigo (2024), an old-school, band-driven album exploring the intense emotional trajectory of a breakup through cinematic, dramatic, and richly orchestrated soundscapes.

 

With his third solo record, Wild Swim, Deprez embraces liberation and rebirth. Recorded in LA alongside producer Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka) and a top-tier live band featuring musicians associated with Adele and Alabama Shakes, he steps away from total studio control to fully own his role as a singer and performer. The result is a retro-futuristic, 9-track collection—ranging from Motown-inspired backing vocals and sultry crooner pop to triumphant brass and synths—led by lead single "Four In The Morning". Wild Swim is set for release on November 13, 2026.
